Science City Day
Science City in Hamburg Bahrenfeld is a district in transition. In the north-west of Hamburg, a place is being created where cutting-edge research and city life meet.
Science City Day celebrated this new district – and presented it to the city’s public in all its facets. Around 14,000 Hamburg residents visited the city festival in Bahrenfeld. Numerous research institutions such as the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and institutes of the University of Hamburg opened their doors and provided insights into their facilities and research. On the city mile, initiatives and associations from the urban community provided a colorful program for young and old on and off the stage. A digital scavenger hunt invited children and young people to explore Science City.
Together with the Hamburg agency Mann beißt Hund, con gressa planned, designed and managed the major event on behalf of the Hamburg Ministry of Science, Research, Equality and Districts.
