Enter: Science
Since 2022, we have been organizing Enter: Science – The Future Talk. This interactive event series, presented by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, explores current social debates and key issues shaping the future. What does science have to do with our everyday lives? These topics are presented in an accessible way, discussed openly, and the events provide ample opportunity for questions, opinions, and audience participation. This lively exchange between science and society highlights the contributions scientists make to the question of how we can shape our future.
Creative science communication
For the Enter: Science talk series, we develop the topics and facilitate interaction—not only in the auditorium, but also before and after the event in the foyer of the
Bundeskunsthalle. We adapt research topics from all disciplines for a primarily young audience, presenting them in a way that relates to everyday life and from various perspectives. Past talks have covered:
- Tailored Treatment: What Does Personalized Medicine Offer?
- Rethinking Housing: How Can We Achieve Sustainable Urban Planning?
- Man and machine. How artificial intelligence is changing us.
- The future of nutrition. What role do genetically modified plants play?
- Immigration as an opportunity? How our society is growing together.
- Sun, water, wind. How do we achieve the climate targets?
- Guided by algorithms? How digital media influence our opinions.
Social media: Expanding the dialog
con gressa handles the editorial content and ensures that posts are both well-researched and engaging, sparking discussion. Like Enter: Science itself, the Instagram account is designed to foster dialogue with the community: comments and poll results can be discussed during the live event with the panelists. Fact-checking and background information: Before and after the event, we’ll cover specific topics and research aspects on the Instagram channel.
