TomorrowLabs / Long Night of Science
After very successful editions of the Long Night of Science in 2022 and 2023 on behalf of the city of Magdeburg, it was time for something new in 2024: we deliberately opted for variety with the TomorrowLabs science festival.
This time, not only research and innovation, but also music and culture came together at the Port of Science. The combination of interactive scientific contributions, artistic formats and a festival character became TomorrowLabs’ recipe for success.
Science goes festival
The TomorrowLabs program ran through four thematic areas – the so-called Labs: Tomorrow:Health, Tomorrow:Technology, Tomorrow:Earth and Tomorrow:Society. Always with the question in mind: How do we want to shape Magdeburg’s future together? The formats varied from dynamic soapbox science lectures to experiments, workshops, talks, job speed dating and improv theater. Visitors were able to marvel at all kinds of exhibits at the Port of Science, while DJ Renard dominated the stage program in the background.
In 2025, we have again been commissioned to organize a Science Night, which will now alternate annually with the TomorrowLabs Festival.
