Creative forum for the exchange of knowledge in science communication

In 2024, we joined forces with the University of Hamburg to implement the first “Science Communication Week” – an event format developed by us that sheds light on science communication from different perspectives. For one week, workshops, impulses, lectures and discussion rounds took place on topics such as visual language, media training and AI in research proposals.

A central item on the program was our own digital Wisskomm School, which we have been running together with Wissenschaft im Dialog for years. What was special about the Wisskomm School Hamburg was that the participants were able to present the communication concepts they had developed during the school to a jury at the end of the week in an idea pitch. The most convincing concept received funding for implementation. In 2025, the Science Communication Week was once again held at the University of Hamburg with our support.

Science Communication Week strengthens the topic at all levels of the university and beyond. It shows how essential good science communication is for research and society. It creates a lively platform for the transfer of knowledge between researchers, students and communication experts.

The Week of Science Communication is a diverse, open umbrella format that offers generous space for a wide variety of actors and formats and can be flexibly adapted to the needs and interests of different institutions.
